My go-to apps and tools for design, writing, and productivity.
Flight Tracking
Flighty
Tracking flights, getting updates on delays, gate changes often way before the airline lets me know. I also enjoy their passport feature, that lets me see all the lights I've taken over time.
Publishing Platform
Ghost
A modern and robust CMS and publishing platform for creators. It helps me make this site happen.
Drag & Drop
Yoink
An app that improves drag and drop between windows, apps, monitors, and can also act as a temporary holding space where you can drag multiple things before distributing to their new locations. Saves me so much time.
Habit Tracking
Streaks
Based on James Clear’s Atomic Habits, I found that habit stacking and tracking to build streaks is a great mechanism for me to stick to my habits. I also love the quick stats on my adherence to certain habits over time
Music Listening
Spotify
Between the size of their library, the collaboration on shared playlists, and their discovery features, I always come back to Spotify.
Podcast Listening
PocketCasts
My favorite podcast app. Love the controls and interface, as well as settings to automatically download episodes for certain podcasts but not others.
Calculator
Numerical
Significant upgrade from the default calculator on iOS. I frequently revisit previous calculations, so swiping over to see my history and being able to make quick modifications is a huge win for me.
Second Brain
Notion
Setting up my “second brain” for the various topics and projects in my life, via Tiago Forte's PARA.
Virtual Whiteboard
Miro
My favorite digital whiteboard. I constantly use it for quick brainstorms, outlining presentations, mind maps, synthesizing research notes by affinity mapping, even some quick wireframing.
Window Management
Rectangle
Better window management on macOS via shortcuts. Saving me on the daily.
Gratitude Journal
DayOne
Started using it for daily gratitude journaling and found this to be a great tool for it. DayOne also surfaces old entries from the same date, which makes for a nice reflection on things I paid attention to over time.
Budgeting
Copilot
Budgeting and finance overview in an easy-to-use interface.
Guided Meditation
Calm
Between the daily guided meditations and specific topics, I have consistently returned to this app on a daily basis for a couple of years
Keyboard Shortcuts
Alfred
Think of it as a super-powered Spotlight replacement. It’s constantly grown on me over the years.
Highlight Saver
Readwise
Aggregates and resurfaces my highlights from Kindle, Reader, etc
Task Management
Todoist
Mighty to do list. Their productivity karma and streaks feature has effectively helped me reduce procrastination many times, as I really didn’t want to break my streaks.
Password Management
1Password
My go-to password manager. Been using it for many years and have never found a reason to switch.
